Player Owned Farm: 54-81 farming for profit/least expensive
You are going to have to sell enough animals to afford the collector, the noted produce option, and breeding in small pens. Growing a full set of carnivorous chinchompa to elder should be sufficient to reach level 64 farming. The beans from the 16 elder chinchompas and the 32 elder chickens will total just under 4k beans. Request the chicken buyer come until you run out, then request the chinchompa buyer.
Buy the bank chest, breeding in small pens, and the collector.
Deploy a pair of elder chinchompas in the two small pens, selecting any studly and virile ones. Put a pair of elders in the breeding pen and use the two free slots to grow two child chinchompas. Deploy the collector to be active at the breeding pen, gathering any animals that should breed. If you check the farm twice a day, you will birth about 12 baby chins, four which will be grown to adolescence, with eight surplus, each day. You will harvest about 4-6 unchecked chinchompas from the collector, costing you 40-60 beans. These should be sold on the grand exchange. If they don't sell for at or above 100k each, use these in place of any baby chinchompas you buy off other players. If you want to grow only what you breed, you have the choice to sell the unchecked chinchompas or grow them. If you grow them, you will reap the harvest from the adolescent stage, as well as whatever beans or profit you make from selling them. You can choose to raise adolescents and make some cash, or raise elders and sell for beans for noted produce, medium pen breeding, and the trapper.
If you grow to elders in the breeding pen, you average 11 baby chinchompa a day, if you grow to adolescence in the breeding pen, you average eight baby chinchompa a day, breeding in the two pens. When enough baby chinchompas pile up, convert one of the small pens to growing. You will now produce 6 baby chinchompa per day and grow 16 to adolescence, decreasing your stock by 10 baby chinchompa per day. If you grow to elde in this setup, it will sustain itself as the chinchompas from the one small pen checked daily are sufficient to meet the demands if growing to elder (less chins, in pen for more time.)
You will have to buy spider eggs until you unlock breeding in medium pens. Build both medium pens using the assist system. Then, put a pair of elders in one pen, and either another pair of elders, or four eggs, in the other. Deposit eggs in bank, when they pile up, grow in one of the pens. A pair of spiders should lay enough eggs to either meet, or come close to, the speed at which eggs are used in the other pen.
You can build large pens with the assist system and grow yaks, for basically free farming XP.
At level 81, you can buy baby zygomites and raise to adolescence for about 50k-100k profit each, plus whatever harvest you gain. You can also breed zygomites in your medium pens once you have the beans to unlock that. One setup is to breed in one pen and grow in the other, although you will breed them slightly slower than you can grow them.
You can unlock the trapper, and send him 2-3 times per day, gambling he will find a yak, chinchompa, zygomite, or dragon. If he finds a rabbit or chicken or other low tier animal, you can still sell it and recoup a few coins.
As your farming level increases, you can unlock breeding in large pens and breed dragons, to augment your income.
